The Mazda RX-7 is a product of the Japanese company Mazda.
It was officially presented in March 1978. All
models of this car were fitted with an original rotary piston engine
constructed by Feliks Wankl, named after his engine name Wankl. The first model was equipped with a 1146cc Wankel engine with power from 95 to 105 horsepower. By contrast, since 1983, the RX-7 has received a turbocharged engine and an electric fuel injection system. The first generation of the RX-7 was produced in years 1978 -1985.
The second generation of RX-7 model is appeared in 1985.It was produced in years 1985-1992.
The third and last generation of this model appeared in 1992 and was produced for 10 years. In total, 68,589 units of the third generation were produced. It was still turbocharged. The RX-7 became stronger and compared to its predecessor the power increased by 39 horsepower. The latest generation of the RX-7 uses more powerful large disc brakes and bucket seats. On
the European market, the RX-7 was available only from the beginning of
1992 to the beginning of 1996. In recent years the RX-7 was only offered
in Japan.
